What are you doing with your one precious life?' is a quote that has inspired me over the last decade. After living in North Carolina for 25 years, I decided to give it all up and move to New York City. Since that time, my life has changed dramatically and I have been open to many exciting opportunities. The most important of which has been the opportunity to learn and expand my knowledge with regard to international issues and travel.
While in New York City, I have been a full time professor at Pace University and have had the opportunity to be adjunct faculty at New York University and City University of New York. During this time my primary research focus has been sustainable tourism development; rebuilding New York City tourism post 9-1, Green Mapping in Brazil, New York City, and Italy; introducing geography into education; planning and executing service learning; and taking steps to internationalize the university curriculum.
I have been delighted to have the opportunity to introduce almost 200 students to Brazil through our Green Mapping of sustainable businesses in Paraty Brazil. Check out the website.
